Apparently Fully Booked is on sale for the weekend. It’s 20% off on regular items until Sunday. Perfect timing because I was already looking forward to curling up with a good book to read over the weekend. I don’t regularly go shopping for books anymore so I thought calling it my Fully Booked July 2017 Haul was appropriate!
So here’s what I got for my Fully Booked July 2017 Haul:
(1) Counterfeit Gods: The Empty Promises of Money, Sex, and Power, and the Only Hope that Matters and (2) The Meaning of Marriage: Facing the Complexities of Commitment with the Wisdom of God by Timothy Keller
I’ve actually been seeing a lot of Timothy Keller quotes online and some of them hit close to home with me. I only got to physically buy Counterfeit Gods though. I had to order online The Meaning of Marriage because they didn’t have a copy at the store.
Now, why on earth am I reading a marriage book? To be honest, it felt weird looking for the title but most of the Timothy Keller quotes I really liked were from this book. Not only that but I think it may be the season that I start praying for it. So I’m hoping I get to learn a lot of things from this book once it arrives.
(3) Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman’s Soul by John & Stasi Eldredge
I was actually hoping to read Wild at Heart first but it wasn’t available either. I tried looking for it on the online site as well but with no luck. Maybe it will be in CCF’s book store! Will probably check it out on Sunday.
(4) Creativity, Inc. : Overcoming the Unseen Forces that Stand in the Way of True Inspiration by Ed Catmull with Amy Wallace
Moving away from the Christian books for a moment with this purchase. Truth is, I’ve been feeling pretty down i the dumps lately. Retail therapy may be a thing. I’m hoping this book takes me out of my creative slump and motivates me with work!
And that’s it!
If you’ve read any of these books let me know what you think! 🙂
